What is National Payroll Week and why is it important?

National Payroll Week recognizes the hard work and dedication of America’s workers and the professionals that provide payroll services to ensure the accurate and on-time payroll processing for millions of employees.   National Payroll Week promotes programs that educate workers regarding their paychecks, deductions, and helps them understand their wages and their finances.

The slogan for National Payroll Week is “America Works Because We’re Working For America”.   Taxes that payroll professionals collect from employee’s paychecks fund a multitude of government programs including building federal highways, Medicare, Social Security, and the US Military.   Approximately 70% of the U.S. Treasury’s annual revenue is collected and reported by payroll professionals.
