Alan Long

Alan Long, CPA, CITP, CGMA, received his accounting degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1979 and became a certified public accountant in 1981. He led the firm as managing member for more than 25 years in which time he played a critical role in its growth to five offices and over 60 team members. Mr. Long was named by Accounting Today as one of ten managing partner elite in 2012 and 2019.
Alan is dedicated to the profession and has held numerous positions with both the Kentucky Society of CPAs, as well as the AICPA. His roles with the Kentucky Society of CPAs include president and secretary/treasurer of the Society, as well as chair of the Education Foundation of the KYCPA. At the national level, Alan has served as a member of the Peer Review Board, the Auditing Standards Board and the Professional Ethics Executive Committee, and most recently, named to the AICPA Leadership Council. He has also served as a member of the NASBA Compliance Assurance Committee and the Standards Setting and Professional Trends Advisory Committee and was a member of the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy.
Always giving back to the profession, Alan is a continuing education instructor for the AICPA and has twice received the AICPA Outstanding Discussion Leader Award. Among Alan’s many accolades, he was recognized as the 2005 Distinguished Alumnus of the Eastern Kentucky University School of Business & Technology and an Outstanding Committee Chair by the Kentucky Society of CPAs in both 2003 for his work on the Peer Review Program and in 2023 for his work with the Political Action Committee.
Alan and his wife, Teresa, reside in Richmond, Kentucky.
